Garden Style Wedding at Pensacola Country Club

Hannah and Jimmy’s wedding at Old Christ Church and their reception at the Pensacola County Club this past spring was SO much fun and so beautiful. Old Christ Church is a beautiful, historic church in downtown Pensacola. It has such character and is one of my favorite churches in the area and The Pensacola Country Club is seriously gorgeous. The building, the rooms, the grounds… it is one of the most beautiful venues in Pensacola. Needless to say, Hannah and Jimmy could not have picked two better venues for their big day. They are both such incredible people. So sweet and so much fun to be around. I don’t think I stopped laughing the entire day.

“I initially imagined the ceremony under a big oak tree, but I realized the factor of weather would probably be super stressful and I don’t like tents. So my next idea was stained glass. Old Christ fit my picture perfectly. We wanted our ceremony to feel small and like home. Like everyone present was part of the family. We kept decorations to a minimum because the church itself was already so beautiful. We wanted to keep things simple, so we kept our vows traditional.”

The guys wore grey suits because we liked the color combination with the bridesmaids dress color. I bought their accessories (suspenders, tie, socks etc) as gifts for the guys to keep.

“I wore the first dress I tried on from Davids Bridal. Although I did try on others, I knew it was the one because of the beaded top and poofy princess feel of the bottom. It made me feel like a bride. I also wore the veil my mom wore for my parents wedding and a purse that was my grandmothers. My earrings were a Christmas present from my mom and I bought my shoes from Toms. I also included a locket on my bouquet with a picture of my dog, Emma, who passed away last summer. This, along with the purse, allowed me to keep those who couldn’t be there with me on my wedding day. –  Hannah”

What are some of your favorite memories from the wedding day?

Hannah: I have quite a few, but probably one of my favorites was the ant on my chest during the ceremony. Somehow a large ant got into my flowers and once I walked down the aisle it managed to get out of the flowers and onto my dress. I didn’t even notice it, but my sister was giving me a look that told me something was on my dress. So I looked down and saw the ant running across my chest and it totally cracked me up. All the stress from walking down the aisle left as my dad casually reached over and grabbed the ant. It was probably something very few people noticed, but it was something hilarious for me to look back on.

Jimmy: The first look was probably my favorite memory. It was the first time I saw Hannah all dressed up in her wedding gown. She was more beautiful than I could have ever imagined.

I really loved the way I felt in the Country Club. It felt so fancy with the big open room, but also incredibly natural with the green accents. It was also super convenient because they had delicious catered food and they set most of everything up for us (tables, chairs, linens etc) So I knew that would ease the stress on our wedding day.

The sweetest memory for us was leaving the reception for 10 minutes to take sunset photos. Even though there wasn’t much of a sunset, the weather was perfect and it gave jimmy and I an opportunity to just be still and breathe for a moment. I also really enjoyed getting ready with my momma and doing a mini reveal with my bridesmaids and dad. Those few moments were precious for me.

What an all-around BEAUTIFUL wedding & bride! Just when I stopped chuckling at the shot w/ the Crocs, my heart STOPPED when I saw the image of the bride through the car window! That shot is a throat-puncher, surely to be treasured for generations to come. Great work, Erika!
