Downtown Pensacola wedding at Palafox Wharf
My 2017 Wedding season is wrapping up and Sarah and John’s downtown pensacola wedding at Palafox Wharf was my last full day wedding of the year! It’s weird that the year is coming to an end and I’ll have to wait until the end of February until it all starts back up! When you shoot weddings, you get used to your weekends being taken celebrating and documenting the start of a couple’s life together. It’s an amazing thing to get to be a part of and it’s always a weird feeling when you have a weekend off. It’s like a part of you is missing and I find myself checking my schedule 10+ times that day looking to make sure I’m not missing anything or am supposed to be somewhere I’m not. It’ll be a bit of an adjustment, but I’ll have portrait sessions to keep me busy until then.
Sarah and John’s wedding was the perfect way to close out 2017. They are both CPA’s, so they chose to celebrate in December when accounting work is the slowest. Sarah didn’t want her wedding to look like a Christmas wedding and I think she did a perfect job. With a navy, deep red, and gray color palette, her wedding was perfect for winter without screaming holidays. She started the day off with her bridesmaids, getting ready in the gorgeous Bridal Suite at New World Inn (sorry, New World Inn… that was me that ripped the curtains off the track. My bad.) and afterward had the sweetest, tear jerking first look with John out on their patio, thanks to the rain that started to sprinkle. The rain stopped with perfect timing and the three of us, with the rest of the wedding party and family braved the cold for portraits (it was freezing!) before heading over to Palafox Wharf for their ceremony and reception. The day was filled with tears (OH MY GOSH. Sarah’s dad’s toast!!!), plenty of laughter, wild dancing, an impromptu limbo with a pocket tape measure, and then we stopped traffic for a confetti canon send off down Palafox.
Thank you Sarah and John for sharing your wedding day with me and for making my last wedding of 2017 so memorable. xoxo
